Telangana Allows Bars & Pubs to Remain Open on Dec 31, Read more inside
Hyderabad: The Telangana government has permitted licensed bars and pubs in the state to remain open till 1 AM on New Year’s eve.
Not dampening spirits in the state, the Telangana government has accorded the permission for license holders of 2B (Bars), C1 Licensees (In-house), EP1 Licensees (Event permit), and TD1 (in-house) licensees of Tourism Development Corporation.
Telangana state Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar in a letter addressed to the State Excise and Prohibition Commissioner gave the permission in response to a request by the excise department.
The retail shops with A4 licenses will be allowed to remain open till 12 am on December 31, according to the notification released by Telangana government.
“Permission has been granted to license holders of 2B (bars), C1 ( in-house) EP1 license (event permits) and TD1 (in-house) licenses of Tourism development corporation to serve liquor up to 1 AM on the intervening night of 31st December and 1st January 2021 and to keep A4 license (retail shops ) open up to 12 midnight on the 31st of December,” read the letter.
The Chief Secretary has directed the Commissioner Excise and Prohibition to take appropriate measures and have advised the shop owners to strictly adhere to SOPs for COVID-19.
