Sandalwood Drug Case: Karnataka HC Grants Bail to Sanjana Galrani With Conditions

Bengaluru: The Karnataka High Court on Friday granted bail to actor Sanjana Galrani who was in judicial custody in connection with the Sandalwood drug case.

According to reports, the actor will be released from custody upon furnishing a personal bond of Rs 3,00,000 with two sureties of like amount. She will also be required to mark her attendance twice each month while also continue to co-operate in the probe into the drugs case.

Sanjana Galrani and her mother were arrested a day after they were detained on September 8 by the Central Crime Branch (CCB), Bengaluru for their alleged involvement in the drug case. The mother-daughter duo was later sent to the CCB office in Chamrajpet for further interrogation.

Later on September 30, a special (Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) court in Bengaluru rejected the bail plea of actresses Sanjana Galrani and Ragini Dwivedi and one Rahul in connection with a case related to the alleged drug abuse in the Kannada film industry.

For over two months the actor was lodged in the Parappana Agrahara Central Prison, in Bengaluru. Sanjana Galrani is accused by the Central Crime Branch of procuring and supplying drugs to high-profile parties of the Kannada film industry.
