The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Jagan Mohan Reddy met Union Minister for Home Affairs, Amit Shah at his residence.

Several issues were discussed at the meeting such as the Polavaram Project and the three capital projects of the state.

A statement from the Chief Miniter’s Office(CMO) read” The Chief Minister submitted a memorandum on Polavaram and urged him to consider the second revised cost estimate as per the 2017–18 index and pass the Rs 55,656 crore expenditure and give necessary instructions to the Finance and Jal Shakti Departments accordingly”.

The CM urged the Home Minister to clear the compensation of Rs. 1,779 crore so as to avoid any further delay in the project.

The Polavaram Project is a multi-purpose National Irrigation Project that is being constructed in East Godavari and West Godavari districts of Andhra Pradesh.

The two leaders also discussed the issue of three capitals in Andhra Pradesh with Reddy urging the Home Ministry to issue a decentralisation notice.
