GST Portal Can Now Handle 3 Lakh Users Concurrently as GSTR 3B Filings See Jump

New Delhi: Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) Portal can now handle almost double the taxpayer traffic for return filings.

The GST infra is now upgraded to handle up to 3 lakh concurrent logged-in users at a time. The upgrade has even enabled the GSTN portal to handle as many 5 lakh users concurrently, if necessary.

“ The GST eco-system is future-ready to offer a seamless experience to the taxpayers with its augmented capacity even beyond the current load limits,” the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs said in its statement.

Besides this upgrade Goods and Service Tax Network (GSTN) has also introduced auto-populated GSTR-3B in PDF form. The PDF form of GSTR-3B with the auto-population of Input tax credit feature will be available from November 12, 2020.

The number of active taxpayer numbers have effectively doubled to 1.3 crores since the launch of GST.

As per the GSTN data, September 2020 witnessed a sudden jump in the filing of GSTR-3B, the monthly return filed by taxpayers. The month of September recorded an increase of 88.42 percent in GSTR filings as 168.11 lakh users filed their returns in the month.

“Taking the surge during the peak filing into consideration, GSTN also took on the performance and stress testing of GST System applications that helped identify and remove bottlenecks in the software,” CBIC added.
