Former Tamil Nadu, CSK pacer Yo Mahesh retires from all forms of cricket

Former Tamil Nadu and Chennai Super Kings fast bowler Vijaykumar Yo Mahesh announced retirements from all formats of the game on Monday.

The seamer played 50 First-Class matches and taking 108 wickets at an average of 35.31 and an economy of 3.20 and also score two centuries and 5 half-centuries.

He also played 61 List-A matches where he took 93 wickets at an average of 24.67 and an economy of 5.16.

He was also part of the 2006 Under 19 World cup squad where he played six matches and took 11 wickets at an average of 14.18 and an economy of 3.42. He has also represented India at the A level.

“I would like to thank my state cricket Tamil Nadu Cricket Association for nurturing me from the age of 14 and finishing with 12 years of first-class cricket,” he said.

In 2008, he was purchased by Delhi Daredevils in the player’s auction and was in the side for two years before being released.

His next team was in his home state as he was purchased by CSK IN 2011 before being released in 2012.

He took 21 wickets at an average of 23.76 in 18 matches but was a mainstay in the Tamil Nadu bowling attack.
